DESCRIPTION OF THE MASTER’S PROGRAM IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE ARTS

The program aims to train the student to do research in the criminal justice field; responding to the need to maintain highly qualified professionals who master the competencies required in this discipline. Train the professionals to intervene with the different populations and the problems that confront the society. The program is part of the Department of Education, Social Sciences and Humanities Studies of the Barranquitas campus and consists of 36 credits.

Barranquitas Campus (BC) at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico (IAUPR) has a License to Renew the Puerto Rico Board of Education (CEPR) and all academic programs, including online programs, are related to that agency. The BC, IAUPR is accredited by the Higher Education Commission of the States of the Middle (MSCHE), 1007 North Orange Street, 4th Floor, MB #166, Wilmington, DE 19801 (267-284-5000). The MSCHE is an institutional accreditation agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the United States of America and the Accreditation Council of Higher Education (CHEA). Also, Barranquitas Campus at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico it’s a part of National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) and American Council on Education (ACE).

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • A minimum academic index of 2.50 in the last 60 credits of academic work at the level undergraduate, graduate or in a combination of both, at the discretion of the student.
  • Demonstrate, through an examination or other appropriate means as determined by the academic department or division, the ability to interpret professional material, both in Spanish and English, and the ability to express themselves correctly in writing in one of these languages.
  • Request an evaluation of their transcript of credits to the specialized agencies or to the unit that requests if it has a degree equivalent to baccalaureate of accredited university institutions that use a system of qualifications different to the one use in this university.
  • The student must complete the admission requirements and be enrolled at the beginning of each academic semester.
